The Tour

Duration: Times Vary (includes lunch)

The Black Howler Monkey Sanctuary is located 35 miles northwest of Belize City. Our locals would refer to them as ‘baboon’ in the Creole dialect. The goal of the sanctuary is to sustain the habitat of the black howler monkey, and to give a unique opportunity for visitors to experience the rainforest and witness black howler monkeys in the wild. Conservation effort bring many villages together to protect the population and habitat of black howler monkeys. While travelling along the villages and narrow roads you can spot the monkeys in the trees. At the sanctuary you will get to see the monkeys in their natural habitat.

Images of Howler Monkey Sanctuary

“Visiting Belize is heavenly but visiting the jungles of Belize is beyond awesome when there are monkeys to see!! Jeevan led us to an amazing family owned Howler Monkey sanctuary where we got to not only view the monkeys in their natural habitat, but we were able to interact and experience the wonderful personalities of these creatures. I highly recommend this tour with Belize Raindrops Adventures.”

Tour Tip

This location is near the river and has quite a lot of mosquitos on the short hike around the property, make sure you repellant up for this one!
